Join Artistic Director Anthony Trecek-King for a captivating musical journey to Cape Town, the Mother City of South Africa. An international beacon of cultural reconciliation, Cape Town offers a life-affirming perspective on our world. The program includes Dan Forrest’s global setting of Jubilate Deo and traditional South African folk songs along with special guest, the Cape Town Philharmonic. Beyond the music, we’ll visit cultural landmarks, sing with families from historic Langa township, and take in breathtaking ocean and mountain scenery.
Note that this singing week is an 8 night program with an extra day included. Please visit the Other Details tab to learn more about a BCI sponsored 3-day Pre Tour and information on adding a safari following the BCI program.
Dan Forrest: Jubilate Deo
Peter Louis van Dijk: San Gloria
Traditional: South African Folk Songs
The works are sung in Ecclesiastical Latin and various languages with pronunciation guides provided.

Our hotel is the 4-star Southern Sun: The Cullinan. It is in a safe and accessible area across from the Convention Center and near the vibrant Victoria and Alfred Waterfront. Housing options including single supplements will be offered after acceptance into the program. Optional roommate matching assistance will be available.
As part of our specially negotiated group travel package, all hotel guests must be registered BCI participants as singers or non singers. All rooms for our group must be reserved and assigned through BCI without exception. Unregistered guests in rooms are not permitted.
Catered meals will be in the hotel dining room. We work with our hotel to provide a variety of food choices at every group meal, including vegetarian options. We also do our best to accommodate gluten-free and vegan requests, but we cannot guarantee strict adherence to special food requests at non-U.S. venues.
This venue requires a light amount of walking for rehearsals and performance. Rehearsals are a one block walk from the hotel. Sightseeing with coach transportation and optional tours may require a significant amount of walking and/or uneven terrain. Details for each tour will be included following acceptance.
